Ballybacka set for break

Pat Fahy is giving Ballybacka Lady a break before running her again after she failed to make an impression in the Irish 1,000 Guineas.

The County Carlow trainer will look at races at Leopardstown, the Curragh and Fairyhouse for the daughter of Hurricane Run, who finished 12th behind Misty For Me in the Classic.

"She was quiet for a day afterwards but she's come back to herself and was very good this morning. She's in great shape again," said Fahy.

"I'll build her back up steady and we'll run her again in about six weeks' time.

"She might go to Leopardstown or the Curragh over seven furlongs and a mile in July and she is entered in a Group Three race over seven furlongs at Fairyhouse on June 29th. We'll see what's in that.

"I don't think she fired on the day in the Irish Guineas. Pat Smullen said she ran flat. We found her very easy to manage at the races that day. She might have had an off day.

"We're giving her a good break. She had the two runs so we're freshening her up."
