Ballydoyle completes Navan treble Champion trainer Aidan O’Brien registered a Navan-maidens treble today, with Scandinavia (1/2f) completing the feat in the concluding Book Your Summer BBQ On June 7th Maiden, under jockey Wayne Lordan. Lordan had earlier finished second to O’Brien’s opening-race winner Gstaad, then scored on his Seattle, and on Scandinavia won by 3.25 lengths from staying-on Carthusian. O’Brien’s representative Chris Armstrong said "in fairness to Scandinavia, he had three nice runs as a two year-old with two of them being over in England. This was a lovely race to start him back and the trip is his absolute minimum, but got away with it. "He will appreciate going up to 1m4f and even further. He could make into a horse for the 1m4f handicap in (Royal) Ascot and, towards the back-end of the season, you could even see him over 1m6f. He has a good attitude and there will be a nice pot in him, hopefully." Regarding Ballydoyle's stable form, Armstrong added "everyone is in really great form at the moment, the horses are flying so long may it continue. It is a good time of year, there's plenty of nice races around and plenty of good opposition. "The last two weeks have been unbelievable, we’ve had good winners in trials and even our beaten horses have run very well and will improve again." Quotes from Michael Graham
