Balmont bidding for Singapore Group 1 Balmont Mast flies the flag for Ireland as he bids for a first Group One success in the KrisFlyer International Sprint at Kranji on Sunday. He doesn't need to go on grass here as he's already had a good gallop on it in Ireland before he came here. "Looking at the track and the way the weather has been, I hope it stays good to firm, or at worse good to soft. We've got a good draw (two) and that will allow us to take up a good spot. "I don't know much about the locals, but I heard some of the locals like Emerald Hill are pretty quick and will set the pace, even though he's now drawn the outside." Australian raider Bel Sprinter leads the opposition and he was last seen when beaten into third behind Black Caviar in the TJ Smith Stakes at Randwick in April. Other familiar names include the ex-Sir Michael Stoute-inmate Dux Scholar and Mike de Kock's Kavanagh, who was sixth in the Golden Shaheen.
