Balmont Mast is set to be given a summer break following his disappointing effort in Singapore last weekend.

Following a good campaign in Dubai, the six-year-old ran a fine race to finish fourth in last year's Krisflyer International Sprint at Kranji, but has not been in the same sort of form so far in 2014.

He performed creditably at Meydan earlier in the year, but trailed home last of nine runners in the Far East, and trainer Eddie Lynam believes his charge will benefit from a break.

He said: "They had a lot of rain on the day and he just ran no sort of race.

"He'll get a nice break now."

Lynam also had news of Vallado, who won twice from three starts as a juvenile but has not been seen so far in 2014.

"She just isn't firing on all cylinders at the moment," said the trainer.

"We'll give her a bit of time and see where we go with her."
