Colin Bowe's stable jockey had a trying beginning to the afternoon with two of his mounts in the opening three races coming to grief. Ballindaggin native O'Neill had his first point-to-point winner on Viking Rebel in March 2007 and he's just the fourth to pass the 500 mark, joining fellow Wexford man Jamie Codd, along with Derek O'Connor and the late great John Thomas McNamara.
