Beau runs out stylish winner under Burns Beauparc sprinted away inside the final furlong to run out a cosy winner of the mile-and-a-half handicap at Dundalk. The Gerry Keane-trained mare had been placed twice at the track this year and went to post 5/2 co-favourite this evening. She travelled strongly throughout, under Nicola Burns, and went on a furlong-and-a-half from home. The daughter of Free Eagle opened up in the closing stages to score by three-and-a-half lengths from front-runner Voice Of Reason. Keane said: "She's a nice filly and she has won here before. "She has come down to a winning mark again. Once she goes over the 80, she might struggle. "I don't know whether she even needed it (tongue-tie) or not, but I was just listening to her one morning at home on the gallops and, not a wind problem, but she might have been flipping her palate a bit or something. She was a bit noisy, so it was just to see would it help. "She has won twice on the turf, and we were talking about even going over hurdles with her. She would be a grand mare for a summer hurdle. She barely get the two miles on the Flat, but she would get it over hurdles." (Quotes by Michael Graham)
