Bell Bides Time With Evie

Michael Bell has ruled Red Evie out of the Dubai Duty Free at Nad Al Sheba on March 31.

The filly enjoyed a terrific three-year-old campaign with seven victories, culminating in the Group One Matron Stakes at Leopardstown.

She was reportedly over the top when disappointing on her final start in the Sun Chariot Stakes and has not come in her coat in time to be considered for the 5million contest in Dubai.

Bell said: 'Over the weekend, the decision was made not to send Red Evie over to Dubai to run in the Dubai Duty Free race.

'Although the filly is well in herself, she has not come in her coat in time and still looks fairly wintery ? but who can blame her after the sleet and snow storms that we have had in Newmarket?

'We did not want to send her over there underprepared and let her have a hard race against the colts as it would have taken quite a lot out of her and set her back when she returned to England.

'There will be plenty of opportunities for her to show her class over here this season though and the Group One Lockinge Stakes at Newbury is one of her possible targets,' the Newmarket handler told www.michaelbellracing.com.
