BELLATOR COULD MAKE QUICK RETURN

Bellator could bid to redeem his reputation at either Kempton or Haydock this weekend.

The Venetia Williams-trained chaser blotted his copybook when refusing to start for last Saturday`s Mitsubishi Shogun Ascot Chase when 5-4 favourite.

The eight-year-old holds entries in both Saturday`s two-mile Emblem Chase at Kempton and the De Vere Handicap Chase over two and a half miles at Haydock the same day.

Bellator is entered in the Queen Mother Champion Chase and Tote Cheltenham Gold Cup at next month`s Festival and this weekend could be his last chance to have a prep-run.

Miss Williams said today: 'It`s a possibility but I don`t know if he will run in either race.

'I don`t have to run him but it would be the last chance before Cheltenham.'
