Previously a winner over hurdles, the Noel Meade trained Ben Hur opened his account on the Flat when landing the Money Back Daily Specials With Tote.ie Handicap at Leopardstown.

Third at Galway on his latest start, the four-year-old gelding went two places better under a patient ride from Adam Cafrey.

Sent off a well supported 7/4f (from 9/4), the son of Coulsty headed Cooley's Mist inside the final furlong to score by half-a-length.

Noel Meade said: "I thought Adam went to the front very early in Galway. He was travelling really well but he went to the front nearly at the bottom of the hill but that wasn't the day to do that. He made up for it today.

"He's a nice horse. All going well, he'll probably turn up in the four-year-old handicap hurdle in Listowel (Lartigue). He will run on the Flat again but I think he'll go to Listowel."
