Bernardini Shows Classic Form Preakness Stakes winner Bernardini made a successful reappearance as he coasted to victory at Saratoga on Saturday. The Tom Albertrani-trained colt had been off the track since his Classic win in May but he was in impressive form as he made virtually all in the Grade Two Jim Dandy Stakes.Javier Castellano had the Sheikh Mohammed-owned Bernardini quickly away and he powered to a nine-length win over Minister's Bid on a track described as 'sloppy' following heavy thunderstorms.'The plan was to break and go from there,' Albertrani told www.bloodhorse.com.'We didn't want to take anything away from our horse. There was still plenty left. Javier said he had a lot left. We had him going into the race the way I wanted. He ran pretty much how I was hoping.'I was worried all day how he would handle the sloppy track. He handled it with no problem and did it very easily today.'Bernardini is now likely to tackle the Grade One Travers Stakes at Saratoga on August 26.(C) PA Sport
