Binocular & Peddlers in at Sandown Binocular and Peddlers Cross feature among seven possible runners in the totesport 0800 221 221 Contenders Hurdle at Sandown on Saturday. The Listed contest has long been the plan for reigning Champion Hurdle hero Binocular, who won this race en route to Cheltenham glory last season. Connections would not, however, have originally expected the presence of Peddlers Cross, who beat Binocular in the Fighting Fifth Hurdle at Newbury this season. Donald McCain's unbeaten stable star missed his planned Champion Hurdle prep race at Haydock last month after the meeting was abandoned. He is now set to run at either Sandown or at Ffos Las in Saturday's Welsh Champion Hurdle. Binocular's trainer Nicky Henderson has also entered Ruthenoise, while McCain has handed an entry to three-time-winning mare Dorabelle. Evan Williams could run Barizan and Siberian Tiger, while the Nicky Richards-trained Noble Alan completes the list.
