Bob fancied in Diamond Stakes The ultra consistent Bob Le Beau will attempt to score in Group race company for the first time when lining up in the €57,500 Diamond Stakes at Dundalk tomorrow evening. Jessica Harrington's four-year-old has been in terrific form all season, never finishing out of the first three in six races. In his two previous attempts at Group 3 level he chased home So You Think, albeit at a distance, in the High Chaparral Stakes and was a close third to Sense Of Purpose in the Ballyroan Stakes last time out. He has shown form over ten furlongs, a mile and a half and a mile and three-quarters so the trip of one mile, two and a half furlongs should pose no problems, and neither should the surface. "The horse is in good form and he`s the highest-rated horse in the race so he should go close," said Patrick Cooper, racing manager to Christina Patino, who runs Anamoine Limited, owners of Bob Le Beau. "He`s been very consistent all year. He`s been knocking on the door and I`d love to win a Group race with him before the year is out, that would be great as he`s a hard working horse. "He was second in a Listed race at Dundalk last year and won a handicap so the track holds no fears at all and he`s also got a reasonable draw in four. He should go close." John Oxx's Zanughan, fifth in the Derrinstown Stud Derby Trial and winner of his only other start since in Listed company, is likely to be one of his major threats in this ten runner Group 3 event. The first on an eight race card at Dundalk begins at 6pm.
