BOOSTER ONLY RAIDER Rooster Booster is the only British runner in the Pierse Hurdle at Leopardstown on Sunday. The race formerly known as the Irish Sweeps Hurdle and more recently the Ladbroke has attracted a field of 24 with Richard Johnson booked to ride the Philip Hobbs-trained raider (11st 4lb), who finished a half-length second to Ferrers at Cheltenham last time and is a 14-1 chance with local bookmakers Paddy Power. Tony McCoy (Moving On Up), Adrian Maguire (Mumaris), Mick Fitzgerald (Theseus) and Norman Williamson (Wild Arms) are other British-based jockeys due to ride in the #100,000 contest. Charlie Swan, who never won the race in its old guise, rides ante-post favourite Grinkov for Pat Hughes, who saddled last year`s winner Mantles Prince. Grinkov, quoted at 6-1 by Paddy Power, finished a two-and-a-half-length second to the highly-regarded Ned Kelly in a Grade Two novice event at Leopardstown over Christmas to earn his prominent position in the market. Hughes has three otherrunners - Mumaris, Lawz (Philip Carberry) and Theseus.
