Brace Yourself pleasing Meade ahead of Irish National bid Trainer Noel Meade has his sights set on another win in the Boylesports Irish Grand National, this time with Brace Yourself, who finished second in the Porterstown Chase over course and distance at Fairyhouse back in November. Meade, victorious in the Easter Monday highlight with The Bunny Boiler in 2002, has had the stamina test in mind for Brace Yourself for quite a while. ”Brace Yourself has been trained specifically for the race. He ran a good race over the trip at Fairyhouse at the back end and he hasn't had a run since but he's in good shape and we're very happy with him," said the Tu Va handler. "We had the National in our heads for quite a while but it wasn't actually the plan. He got a bang when he ran in the Porterstown and he missed a bit of work so we had to leave him and plans went a bit hay-wire after that. "We just had to wait and there wasn't the chance to give him a run then. He's in good shape, he worked the other day and we were very happy with him - we are pleased with him now at the minute."
