Brennan Switches To Eurotrek

Jockey Paddy Brennan has had to explain to Aintree legend Ginger McCain why he will not be partnering Inca Trial in the John Smiths Grand National.

Confusion surrounded Brennan's mount on Monday when it was originally reported he was to ride Eurotrek for Paul Nicholls only for McCain to claim he had booked the young rider for Inca Trial, ironically only bought out of Nicholls' stable last week.

Brennan's agent Chris Broad confirmed he would be riding for McCain only for the story to take another turn when the jockey backtracked on his decision and he has finally decided that he will ride Eurotrek.

'There appears to have been some confusion throughout the day about what I ride in the Grand National and the blame for that lies squarely at my feet,' Brennan told the Racing Post on Monday evening.

'I was originally booked to ride Eurotrek but then the ride aboard Inca Trail became available and I think that's where all the confusion started.

'However, I ride Eurotrek in the race and I will be apologising personally to Donald McCain and his father about the confusion, which I realise now leaves them both in a difficult position.'
