Brighterdaysahead makes her return from a short break in the Apple's Jade Mares Novice Hurdle at Navan this weekend.

The unbeaten daughter of Kapgarde was last seen running out an impressive winner of a Grade 3 contest at Down Royal in November.

Sunday's Listed contest is set to be a prep race for Cheltenham, where she is prominent in the betting for the Mares Novice Hurdle.

“This has been the plan and it looks an ideal race on our way to Cheltenham. We think she's a very good mare and we're looking forward to running her," trainer Gordon Elliott told journalist Dave Keena.

“She's a big mare and we're minding her so we'll go here and then straight on to Cheltenham all being well.”

Brighterdaysahead is a half-sister to recent €740,000 purchase Caldwell Potter as well as the ill-fated four-timer Grade 1 winner Mighty Potter.
