Brosna Shine built upon the promise of a third place on debut in the valuable Goffs Defender Bumper at Punchestown in April to win the fillies' bumper on Fairyhouse's card.

Pa King 's mount went on from her rivals entering the straight and she still hadn't been asked the question as she asserted inside the final quarter of a-mile.

Gavin Cromwell 's newcomer Araminta attempted to make a race of it outside the final furlong, but was outgunned by three lengths at the winning post.

The winner went off at 7/2 while the runner-up was a 22/1 chance. Cromwell also supplied newcomer Belladaball who finished a remote third at 9/2.

Sonny Carey said: “I think she’s very good and I’m very lucky to have her. Tony Kilduff sent us off to buy a nice filly.

“Touch wood, if everything is okay, we might go to the DRF (Dublin Racing Festival) with her for the Grade 2 mares' bumper. That’s logically where to go.

“Her dam is black-type in bumpers, over hurdles and fences.

"She’s massive as well so she’ll do any job, hopefully.

“It’s great to have one like her.”
