Dylan Browne McMonagle doubled up for boss Joseph O’Brien at Fairyhouse tonight when Kirkland Sioux ran out a convincing winner of the 0-70 handicap over a mile.

The Sioux Nation filly travelled best turning for home and was asked to go a furlong-and-a-half down.

The 6/1 shot stayed on strongly in the closing stages to post a three-and-a-quarter length win over Kc Bear

“She didn’t stay the last day in Limerick (over a mile-and-a-half) and coming back in trip today, on a bit nicer ground, was going to suit,” said Browne McMonagle.

“I was drawn a little bit wide but thankfully she jumped well and put herself in a nice spot.

“She’s a big lady so hopefully there is more improvement to come.”

Browne McMonagle and O’Brien had also struck in the opener with Alwaysanangel
