Browne McMonagle hotfoots it home for 20/1 winner After his intended mount Queen Of Hawaii was scratched from the bet365 Group 1 Fillies Mile at Newmarket this afternoon, jockeys' title-race leader Dylan Browne McMonagle switched to Plan B and hotfooted it back to Ireland where he picked up three rides at Dundalk. He arrived in plenty of time to partner Jungle Ruler (20/1) to victory in the Irish EBF Median Sires Series Fillies Maiden. The Lucky Vega gelding, trained by Joseph O'Brien for Forz Europe Limited, was having his first race and tracked the leaders on the rail before making headway in the straight. Ridden to lead over a furlong out, the winner kept on well to score by a length and a half from Aqua Bear. Browne McMonagle, now six in front (88-82) of Colin Keane, said: “He was very straightforward, he jumped and travelled and he was like a handicapper. “He knew his job, quickened up well and hit the line strong.” The winner had been fifth in a barrier trial at Leopardstown in August and when asked if that helped, he added:- “Definitely, it does no harm. He’s a very straightforward horse though and has a great attitude. “He wasn’t stopping at the line and it was a nice performance on his first outing.”
