Buckley gets a good tune out of Navy Guitar Navy Guitar denied Kevin Sexton and James Fahey of a quick double, as he prevailed by half-a-length in the Crawford Tiles And More Handicap Hurdle. The subject of strong market support when sent off a joint-favourite at Tipperary last month, the Adrian Murray-trained victor finished fifth on that occasion. Available at 10s in early shows for this evening's assignment, the French Navy six-year-old was eventually returned at 6/1. Owned and bred by James Wallace, the 92-rated bay made all under Kieren Buckley and was pressed by Spick And Span (12/1) on bypassing the penultimate flight. Not fluent over the last, he needed to be ridden out on the run-in to get the better of his aforementioned rival, with the pair drawing 20-lengths clear of Tea It Is (13/2 from 33s early) in third. "I think I've had five winners in the last 10 days. It’s probably my best 10 days ever!" Buckley reflected. "I'm probably a good advertisement for these 15 winners or less races, lads like myself in the position I’m in with a few weight problems as well. It gives me a good few chances. "I'm not the only one as well. Paddy O'Brien is doing brilliant, Kevin Sexton is obviously cleaning up, Gavin Brouder as well and the list goes on and on. They are a great thing and give us good chances. "I've done a bit of schooling for Adrian, met him in Skryne a couple of times and ridden in a few schooling races for him but I never had a ride for him. "Sean Flanagan or those kind of lads would generally ride for him. They can't ride in these type of races so I'm glad to take the opportunity. "He had a tongue-tie on today (for a second time) and Adrian said he'd probably strip fitter today than he did in Tipperary. "He definitely settled better today. He picked it up a little bit when a couple of them started coming to me. "Bar for a couple of strides after the last I was never really in too much bother and he showed a great attitude up to the line." There was a nasty incident at the fourth flight, with Bowgate Street falling and bringing down Cramers Valley. Hampered in the melee, Ballycommon Chapel (11/2f) subsequently unseated Conor Owens. While Owens walked away unscathed, both Ambrose McCurtin and Dylan Robinson were taken to hospital for further assessment. STEWARDS REPORT * The Raceday Stewards reviewed the riders' first approach to the starter. Evidence was heard from The I.H.R.B Starter who stated that he was satisfied with the start. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted. Additional reporting by Gary Carson
