Budweiser Extends Support For Irish Derby Budweiser has celebrated its 20-year association with the Irish Derby by extending its sponsorship of the Classic until 2007. This year´s contest on June 26 will be the 140th running of the race and could see Epsom hero Motivator clash with French Derby runner-up Hurricane Run. The mile-and-a-half Curragh contest is Ireland´s richest race, with a total prize fund of ?1.3 million. 'With Anheuser-Busch´s support, the Budweiser Irish Derby has become one of the most prestigious horse races in Europe from both a sporting and social aspect,' said Curragh chairman Michael Osborne.
