Bumper entry for Welsh National

A total of 91 possibles were today unveiled for the Coral Eurobet Welsh National at Chepstow on December 27th.

They include last year`s winner Jocks Cross, from the Venetia Williams stable, along with the runner-up Moral Support and third-placed Edmond, who scored in the 1999 running.

Heading the weights on 11st 12lb is the Paul Nicholls-trained See More Business, who is also an entry for the Pertemps King George VI Chase at Kempton, a race he has twice won.

Second in the weights is Bacchanal (11-8), trained by Nicky Henderson, and next is Kingsmark (11-6), who won the Edward Hanmer Memorial Chase at Haydock for the second time earlier this month.

Other possibles are the Nicholls-trained Shotgun Willy, also on 11-6 and third behind Sackville in the Peterhouse Group Charlie Hall Chase at Wetherby, and Beau (11-4), trained by Nigel Twiston-Davies.

Nicholls has six entries, including Whitbread Gold Cup winner Ad Hoc (11-1), Wincanton victor Montifault (10-10) and Garruth (11-0), while Martin Pipe has 13, including Chepstow winner Majed (10-5) and Take Control (10-8), who has been well supported for the Hennessy Cognac Gold Cup at Newbury on Saturday.

Also in the field is the Mark Pitman-trained Smarty (9-9), who was runner-up in the Martell Grand National and finished second to Amberleigh House in the Tote Becher Chase at Aintree on Sunday.

Henry Daly`s Behrajan (11-0), and Hati Roy (10-8) - who beat Beau when winning at Cheltenham for trainer Henrietta Knight this month - and the Paul Webber-trained Jolly Green Giant (10-6) also catch the eye.

The Stg£75,000 Grade Three race is run over three miles five and a half furlongs.
