Jessica Harrington has pinpointed the upgraded Saratoga Derby for Cadillac after his victory in the International Stakes at the Curragh.

The Lope De Vega colt edged out Dawn Patrol by a short head to add a Group 3 to his Group 2 success at Leopardstown in September.

He signed off last season with a fourth place in the Grade One Breeders´ Cup Juvenile Turf at Keeneland in November and is set for another trip stateside.

“Cadillac has also done very well since his win at the Curragh and will probably go for the Saratoga Derby in a few weeks," Harrington said.

The Saratoga Derby, at Saratoga racecourse, was the sole race to be upgraded to Grade One status in the listing of graded and listed stakes races for 2021 in America.

Alpine Star, who was last seen finishing a close second in the Group One Prix de l'Opera in October in France, is set to return.

The trainer said: “Alpine Star could go to York (for a Listed race) or Ascot (for a Group 3) next weekend. She had a little problem but it’s all cured now. She’s in great order.”
