Carla Ridge records back-to-back Brigid's Pastures Stakes wins Having won the corresponding race 12 months ago, the Eddie and Patrick Harty trained Carla Ridge followed up in the Hailey Equine Irish EBF Brigid's Pastures Stakes (Listed Race) (Fillies & Mares) at the Curragh. Prominent throughout under jockey Chris Hayes, the Dan & Linda Kiely owned 3/1f was pushed along to lead over a furlong from home. Keeping on strongly inside the final furlong, the daughter of New Bay held the late run of Dancing Saxon by half-a-length. Eddie Harty said: "It was lovely to get. It wasn't as impressive as last year but this year was very difficult. She pulled a muscle behind and only had one run about five months ago. She did very well to win it. When the year had kinda gone pear shaped for us and her we decided there was no point in trying to rush her back, just take our time and go for the race that she won last year. "I hope she'll stay in training next year. I mean this year was a write off. I can't remember but I know there's a race at the backend over seven-furlongs at Leopardstown. I'm not sure whether that will fit in or even what the conditions are. Or she could travel or we could just give her a break until next year. That's all a bit up in the air at the minute."
