Carlisle & Leicester both off tomorrow Carlisle and Leicester have both called off their meetings tomorrow due to the cold snap. Officials at Carlisle were due to inspect at 11am but they made an earlier decision after assessing conditions. The track's managing director John Baker confirmed: "Unfortunately we have abandoned Sunday's meeting. "The temperature dropped to minus 5C overnight and the course is frozen with an inch of snow on top. There is little chance of it improving and the forecast is for a possible minus 7C tonight with further snow." Sunday's meeting at Leicester has also been abandoned due to a frozen track. Clerk of the course Jimmy Stevenson had planned to hold an inspection at 12 noon but brought forward that check as he felt there was little point in delaying a decision. "It was minus 5C last night and we now have two inches of snow on the track, so there's no chance of us racing," he said. "It was pretty clear early on so it wasn't worth waiting until later this morning to inspect. The forecast says we could drop as low as minus 7C overnight so there's no hope."
