Casey Facing Spell On The Sidelines

David Casey anticipates being on the sidelines for around five to six weeks after dislocating his shoulder in a crashing fall at Leopardstown on Sunday.

Standing in for Tony McCoy on the Tommy Stack-trained Perce Rock in a Grade Two heat won impressively by Glencove Marina, Casey was knocked unconscious when he parted company from the 6-4 favourite at the final fence.

A philosophical Casey said: 'I'm not too bad, but I was knocked out for a little while.

'I also dislocated my shoulder and I think there might be a small fracture there as well, but it's nothing too major.

'It's probably means I'll have a similar time off as Tom Scudamore and Ruby Walsh had after their injuries, so I'm looking at maybe five or six weeks out.

'I'll see my shoulder surgeon later in the week and we'll get another update on it then.'
