Castle Star is set to reappear in the Group One Phoenix Stakes over six furlongs at the Curragh next month.

Fozzy Stack gave a positive update on his Starspangledbanner colt who was last seen taking the runner-up berth in the Group 2 Railway Stakes at the Curragh in June.

“He'll go straight to the Phoenix. He's bouncing and I wish it was on next week," the trainer said.

“The Railway was a good race and he fluffed the start, you can't give horses that have been placed in Ascot (Go Bears Go) 10 lengths and expect to pick them up.”

Castle Star has tasted Listed and Group 3 success at Headquarters this season before being beaten by a length and quarter in the Railway Stakes.
