Castlebrook has been ruled out of next Thursday's Goffs Thyestes Chase after meeting with a season-ending setback.

Jimmy Mangan's smart novice was last seen finishing third behind Faugheen in Grade 1 company at Limerick over Christmas.

He had been a general 14/1 shot for the big handicap at Gowran but last night the trainer's daughter Jane Mangan tweeted to say that he wouldn't be running:-

“For those punting on Thursday's Thyestes Chase @GowranPark1 — Castlebrook has met with a setback and will miss the remainder of the season.”
