Cecco made all in the concluding Book Online At DundalkStadium.com Maiden and just held on in a pulsating finish at odds of 8/1.

The Fozzy Stack-trained gelding was having his eighth start this year and his first on this surface but looked set to be overhauled by Washington Street inside the final furlong.

However, Joey Sheridan’s mount kept on gamely in the closing stages to prevail by a shorthead with Dramatic a length and three-quarters back in third.

Sheridan said, "Around the bend today over six (furlongs) suited him. He was probably just getting a bit disinterested going straight.

"I'd say that will do his confidence the world of good. He's big, and early on in the year he was probably just a bit weak. I think he is (coming to himself).

"I'm delighted for Michael (Sabatine, owner) as well, he's a lovely man. Early on in the year, we were hoping and promising that we would get his head in front for him. It is nice that he did it.

"He works well at home in front. When I was drawn out (wide), Fozzy left it up to me. I just thought I would get him out, across and go even, building in front and try and stretch them. He should stay going."
