Chabal makes good debut

Chabal was the one for money this morning for the Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Maiden but on track support arrived for Dynasty . However in this case the early birds caught the worm as Chabal made a good debut to score by a length and a quarter from Behtarini . Even money to eight to thirteen, Dynasty was a further short head adrift in third.

Kevin Manning got to the front on the Galileo colt over a furlong out and in the colours of Lady O'Reilly, Jim Bolger's stable jockey kept his mount up to the job to prevail.

Bolger said: "He is a very nice two-year-old and he is a horse with a future. He very slightly tweaked a muscle when he was cast in his box and had to miss a maiden on Derby weekend. He was a little raw still and he is not certain to run again this year but we'll see how he is in a few weeks."

William Hill were certainly impressed and they go 25/1 about Chabal for the 2010 2,000 Guineas. For the 2010 Derby the same firm offer the same price of 25/1.
