Paul Gilligan made a successful raid on Market Rasen today, winning the Book Onto The Racecourse Caravan Park Novices' Handicap Chase, with Churchfield Champ.

Gilligan brought just one runner to the Lincolnshire track and his son of Norwich, who won a handicap hurdle at Sligo last May and a novice hurdle at Bangor in August, was sent off at 9/2.

Making his handicap chase debut this afternoon, the Noel Fehily ridden top-weight got to the front on the run-in and he held off the late challenge of the 13/8 favourite Whiskey Ridge, to win by a length at the line.
