Orewa will head to the Curragh on Irish Champions Weekend after he caught the eye winning a good race at Beverley on Sunday.

Brian Ellison's recently-gelded juvenile claimed a strong-looking five-furlong nursery by two and a half lengths to preserve his three-race unbeaten record at the track.

Next up for the Keith Brown-owned Orewa is the 300,000 euro Tattersalls Ireland Super Auction Sale Stakes over six furlongs on September 11.

"He's a bit of a lad so we had him gelded and his wind done at the same time," said Ellison, who is no stranger to success in Ireland.

"He'd been working well so we expected him to go close at Beverley. They went very quick and the rain they had helped him.

"He'll head to Ireland now for the big sales race at the Curragh."
