Chestnut Charlie ban lifted Chestnut Charlie, the horse banned for running under the name of The Boxer at a flapping meeting at Boyle in 2006 will be allowed race again from January 2010. Owner Fiona McConnell has taken advantage of a rule change brought in by the Turf Club subsequent to the horse's ban. At the end of 2008 an additional rule was brought in that allows an owner to make an application to the referrals committee to have any previous penalty imposed for running at an unrecognised reviewed. Yesterday the referrals committee ordered that the ban be lifted and entries are to be accepted for Chestnut Charlie from January 1st next year.
