Chiave On Target For Cheveley

Silca Chiave will attempt to better her narrow defeat in an Irish Group One when she tackles the Sky Bet Cheveley Park Stakes.

Trainer Mick Channon has pencilled in next Friday's Newmarket feature for the filly after she went down by just a short head in the Moyglare Stud Stakes last time.

The winner Miss Beatrix has franked the form since with success in the Shelbourne Hotel Goffs Million at Curragh.

Silca Chiave, winner of a Newbury maiden, pleased Channon in a workout at West Ilsley this morning and is now set for another crack at the highest level.

Channon said: 'The filly is in very good order and looks to have done well since Ireland.

'It was steady as you go this morning without putting the gun to her head, but she went really well.'

Silca Chiave is a 25-1 chance with the sponsors for next year's Stan James 2000 Guineas.
