Owner Barry Connell does not plan to be rushing Golantilla into a hurdling campaign after his encouraging first season in action.

He was a winner of his first two starts for Sean O'Brien in a point-to-point and a Cork bumper before Connell snapped him up and sent him to Tony Martin.

On his first start for his new yard he finished a very creditable third behind Briar Hill in the Champion Bumper at the Cheltenham Festival in March.

"We're taking our time with him and I would think it will be Christmas before you see him on the racecourse," said Connell.

"At the moment we're looking at Leopardstown at Christmas, but we'll see."
