The Betfred Home Of The Big Winners Maiden Stakes (division one), the opener at Windsor this afternoon (2.25) has seen one of the big market-movers of the day emerge as Fils Anges has tumbled in price from around 14s into a general 7/2.

This Dark Angel colt (Ireland's leading first season sire in 2011) is due to run in famous colours, those of Dermot Hanafin, carried to victory in this year's William Hill Supreme Novices' Hurdle at Cheltenham by Cinders And Ashes.

Fils Anges is an Irish-bred grey and he is a half-brother to several winners including useful pair Gilded Dancer and the speedy Merlin's Dancer. Michael Bell's charge was reportedly badly in need of the run on his debut at Newbury seventy one days ago but obviously it seems much improvement is anticipated now.

Seven pound claimer Ian Burns is booked to ride the well-punted juvenile. He cost £40,000 at the Doncaster Premier Yearling Sale last autumn and he was consigned by his breeder, Yeomanstown Stud in Naas.

Very interestingly, half-an-hour later, Blazing Knight has been 'put through the floor' for the 2.55, the second split of the Betfred Home of The Big Winners Maiden Stakes.

Paddy Power now go 11/4 from 9s about this fellow and there is a link with Fils Anges in the first. The aforementioned Yeomanstown Stud is owned by Gay O'Callaghan whilst his brother Tony bred Blazing Knight at his Tally-Ho Stud in County Westmeath.(EM)
