Cirrus Des Aigles out of Hong Kong Cup Cirrus Des Aigles will not run in the Longines Hong Kong Cup at Sha Tin on Sunday after suffering a setback. The Corine Barande-Barbe-trained six-year-old sustained a tendon injury during light work on Thursday. A statement issued by the Hong Kong Jockey Club read: "Cirrus Des Aigles, a declared starter in the Longines Hong Kong Cup, has been found to have a left fore tendon injury. "Accordingly, Cirrus Des Aigles has been withdrawn from the stated race." Cirrus Des Aigles was the short-priced favourite to win the Hong Kong Cup after he got to within a length and three-quarters of Frankel in his defence of the Champion Stakes at Ascot in October. Barande-Barbe said: "It's disappointing to miss the race but he is not right and will need a rest. "I think it is not too serious and you will see him again next year, I hope. "We had to stop now to ensure things did not get worse and we will give him the time he needs. "I would love to come back to Hong Kong. I very much want to win here."
