Clan Considered For Weekend Outing

John Smith's Grand National favourite Clan Royal could have another outing over hurdles at Chepstow or Market Rasen this weekend.

Trainer Jonjo O'Neill has made speculative entries in three-mile events at the Welsh track on Saturday and the Lincolnshire venue on Sunday.

The Jackdaws Castle handler would like to give the 11-year-old a spin before the Aintree feature on April 8, but will not be forced into a run if conditions are not right.

'He's in at Chepstow, Market Rasen on Sunday,' said O'Neill.

'He may run and he may not.

'The plan is to give him a run before Aintree but if it doesn't happen, then it doesn't matter.

'I am really happy with him.'
