Clarcam bids for hat-trick at Bellewstown Dual Grade One-winning chaser Clarcam bids to land a hat-trick at Bellewstown on Saturday evening when lining up in the opening Bellewstown Golf Course Hurdle on the final day of the July festival meeting. Gordon Elliott's charge made an impressive return to hurdling at Down Royal last time with a facile success in a similar event and conditions look to suit again in the two-and-a-half-mile contest. The Gigginstown gelding is enjoying a fine summer campaign, having also landed a chase at Killarney on his previous start, and Elliott has found him another nice opportunity. He gets a 6lb pull from top-weight Bamako Moriviere as he carries a double penalty. Willie Mullins' charge sets the standard off a mark of 142 having been raised 9lb after his success in a competitive Punchestown handicap early last month. Another who has to come into calculations is the Dermot Weld-trained Waaheb, who returns to the smaller obstacles on his seasonal reappearance. He has not been seen since chasing home Lord Scoundrel in a novice chase at Galway last October. His form over fences wasn't to the same level as his timber form and having had a career-high mark of 146 in this sphere, he commands respect. The €30,000 Fast Shipping Bellewstown Handicap Hurdle is the feature event on the card and Tigris River heads the weights in the two-mile-one-furlong contest. He makes his first start since finishing a staying-on fourth in the ultra-competitive Coral.ie Hurdle at Leopardstown back in January. Fitness should not be an issue coming from Joseph O'Brien's yard and he can be expected to make a bold bid. Seeyouallincoppers looks a threat for the in-form team of Elliott and Jack Kennedy. He returns to hurdling having fallen when still in contention in a beginners chase at Limerick last month. The Saffron Walden gelding is 6lb higher than when running out a cosy winner on his last outing over timber at Cork in May. The Nutcracker, who ran well to chase home a decent sort in Listen Dear at Down Royal last time, and Flaviana, who was demoted at Wexford, are others to consider in a hot heat. O'Brien also appear to have a leading contender in Tesseract in the Tierney Kitchens Balbriggan Maiden Hurdle. The three-time bumper winner found Delegate too strong on his most recent outing at Roscommon but seems to face an easier task now in the two-mile-one-furlong event.
