Clarcam in mix for Gowran's Champion Chase Dual Grade One winner Clarcam and Galway Plate hero Shanahan's Turn are two of the star names among 10 possible runners in Saturday's PWC Champion Chase at Gowran Park. Sizing Europe has won the Grade Two contest for the last four years, but with Henry de Bromhead's brilliant chaser now retired, there will be a new horse on the roll of honour. De Bromhead could well strike gold again, with Shanahan's Turn set to step up in grade following his fine display at Ballybrit. Gordon Elliott's Clarcam was a brilliant winner of the Racing Post Novice Chase at Leopardstown last Christmas and although he failed to lay a glove on the brilliant Un De Sceaux in either the Irish Arkle or the Arkle Trophy at Cheltenham, he signed off an excellent campaign with victory in the Manifesto Novices' Chase at Aintree. Elliott has also entered the admirable Roi Du Mee, while Willie Mullins has three potential runners in Alechi Inois, Indevan and the in-form Devils Bride. Kerry National first and third Rogue Angel and Rule The World could represent Mouse Morris and t he Noel Meade-trained Texas Jack completes the entries.
