Clonmel Calls Precautionary Inspection

There will be a precautionary inspection in Clonmel at 7.30am on Tuesday due to the possibility of further heavy showers this afternoon.

Lorcan Wyer, IHRB Clerk of the Course, said: "Due to heavy rainfall in the last 24 hours, we will have a precautionary inspection at Clonmel tomorrow."

Heavy Rainfall Exceeds Forecast

Wyer explained: "The forecast we had going into the weekend was for 5-10mm of rain throughout Monday. By 8am this morning, we already had 22mm of rain which left the ground heavy."

He continued: "We have had no further rain since 8am this morning and the track is currently fit for racing. However, due to the possibility of further heavy showers throughout the afternoon, which it is hard to put a number on, we will hold an inspection to assess the situation tomorrow morning."
