Clonmel meeting to benefit Hospice Clonmel are set to make “a substantial donation” from admissions at their 'Holy Thursday' meeting to the South Tipperary Hospice. The racecourse will make the donation to the Hospice from all paid admissions on the day. There will also be an opportunity for those coming through the complimentary gate to make a donation to the cause. The ‘Hospice Go Racing’ event was originally to go ahead on Sunday December 5th last year but when that meeting was postponed due to ground conditions it was decided to reschedule for next Thursday, April 21st. The feature race on the card will be the 2011 SEPAM Tipperary Perpetual Cup Handicap over two miles. This race has been dominated by local trainer Pat Flynn in recent years. Having produced Pacolet (2006 and 2007), Bahrain Storm (2008) and Galianna (2010) to win the prestigious Cup, all eyes will be on his entry for this year’s renewal. The First race will get underway at 5.00pm and there will be music in the Club Stand Bar after racing.
