Curragh trainer Johnny Murtagh landed his second Pattern race of the campaign when Frankel filly Believed won the featured Irish Stallion Farms EBF Give Thanks Stakes at Cork.

Ben Coen took his time on the 9/4 favourite for the Group 3 contest over a mile and a half. Sixth of the eight runners at halfway, the Qatar Racing Limited-owned bay made sustained headway in the straight and led inside the final furlong to beat Amelia Earhart by half a length.

It was another length and a half back to third home Caught U Sleeping

"I fancied her today considering her race set-up the last day at Gowran," reported Coen.

"She came out of that race really well, we took the hood off today and having been keen earlier in the year, she is getting the hang of racing now.

"I think that next year she will make a nicer filly again as Johnny and the team have taken her slowly. He has taught her plenty and, next year, I think she will be better stepping up more in distance."
