COIN BACK AT NEWBURY Super Coin is set to make his return to action following a lengthy absence in the Mitsubishi Shogun Game Spirit Chase at Newbury on Saturday. The 13-year-old, winner of the 1998 Mildmay Of Flete Handicap Chase at Cheltenham, has not raced since finishing fourth at Chepstow in December 1999. The Richard Lee-trained gelding also has an entry at Newbury the previous day. However, the trainer`s wife Carol said today: 'He is almost definitely going to run on Saturday. Norman Williamson will ride. 'Richard Johnson schooled him this morning and the horse is in good form. 'We don`t expect to win it but at the same time we want to give him an outing. There is a handicap for him at Sandown the following week that we would like to run him in.' Super Coin has been sidelined for over 400 days but connections feel that it is worth persevering with the horse. 'He had a recurrence of a leg problem and we just had to give him a bit of time off,' Mrs Lee added. 'It was ashame to see him just turned out in the field and the owner really wanted to see him run again. 'The handicapper has dropped him 19lb to 131 which is a great help. 'He likes soft ground and it would be nice if he could pick up a bit of prize money.'
