Coleman saddles first winner over jumps Placed in three of his 10 previous starts, the 106-rated Kasper Hauser put his experience to good use in the the Tote Maiden Hurdle, over two miles, three furlongs, which was the first of eight races at Kilbeggan. The 6/5 favourite, owned by Trevor Payne and the One In A Million Syndicate, put in a fluent round of jumping under Calum Hogan and made all to beat Rosarian by three and three-quarter lengths. "He was due that. Calum gave him a good ride and saved him," said winning trainer Kevin Coleman. "His experience helped against the four-year-olds. Around here, when you are in front and you are jumping well, it's hard to get around them. I think the last time I was here was 2010. I got on a bit better today than I did then! It's a different capacity this time." This was former jump jockey Coleman's first winner under National Hunt rules.
