Punchestown's Clerk of the Course Brendan Sheridan is monitoring the weather conditions for the weekend as Met Eireann has issued a yellow wind warning for the weekend.

Speaking this morning, Sheridan said “Punchestown's ground at present on the Chase and cross-country is yielding and on the hurdle and bumper it is yielding, good to yielding in places.

“The forecast is for 4 to 6mm rain tonight, not too bad tomorrow morning, and tomorrow evening-through Sunday there is more heavy rain.

“We are all good to go here but Met Eireann is putting out a yellow wind warning tomorrow and Sunday so going forward we'll just have to monitor things.

“Also for Naas, which is pretty close to here and is on tomorrow, we'll keep an eye on both tracks.”
