Condon outlines plans for Queen Of Thunder Ken Condon has outlined plans for Queen Of Thunder after her excellent effort in the 1000 Guineas at the Curragh last month. Sent off a 125/1 outsider, the Jaber Abdullah-owned chestnut belied her odds by finishing seventh of 13 and had some high class individuals in behind. A drop in class is now on the cards for the expensive yearling purchase, who is still a maiden after three starts. "We were delighted with her run in the Guineas," Condon reflected. "There is no hiding place in those races and you could mark her up as the first furlong was 15 seconds and the next four were 12 plus. It paid to be on the front end so to do what she did was very pleasing. "She's a sleepy filly at home but one that we've always liked. She obviously cost plenty as a yearling (E340,000 at the Goffs Orby Sale) and is by a very good sire. "The owner has never been shy to let them take their chance if he likes them and he liked her even though she was a maiden. "Ronan (Whelan) said she hit the line well and it looks like a mile and a quarter will be fine for her. "She will go for a maiden next and might come to Gowran in a few weeks time, although the Curragh suits her well. There aren't that many maidens for her in the next six weeks. "I could see her being a very nice filly as a four-year-old. She was entered in the Pretty Polly but could be a Pretty Polly filly next year. "She'll need gaps between her races. She's not fully strengthened yet but she looks like a middle distance filly." Additional reporting by Alan Magee
