Condon unsure about Curragh for Zabaleta

Ken Condon is unsure whether unbeaten two-year-old Zabaleta will take his chance in the Jebel Ali Stables And Racecourse Anglesey Stakes this weekend.

The grey dead-heated on his only start so far at Fairyhouse a couple of weeks ago but may not appreciate softening conditions at the Curragh, where smart sorts like Aidan O'Brien's Samuel Morse and the Kevin Prendergast-trained Dunboyne Express are in the reckoning.

Condon, who is based near the course, learned his trade with John Oxx and started out on his own in 2002.

His best horse so far has been Norman Invader, who won the Round Tower Stakes and was placed in a Group Two at Maisons-Laffitte as well as behind New Approach in the Tyros Stakes.

"There's the race on Sunday but we're due a lot of rain at the Curragh this week and I don't know how the ground will turn out," said Condon.

"It's early days and there is also the Tyros at Leopardstown next Thursday.

"We do think he's a talented horse but we'll have to see how his next race goes."
