Conflated in good form ahead of big Gold Cup test Conflated will bid to repeat his win of two years ago in the featured Paddy Power Irish Gold Cup at Leopardstown tomorrow but trainer Gordon Elliott is no doubt about the task facing his charge. The Gigginstown House Stud-owned gelding beat Minella Indo by over six lengths in 2022 and later that year recorded another Grade 1 victory over the same course and distance in the Savills Chase. However, he’s without a win since and is generally an 11/1 chance for the €250,000 event against hot favourite Galopin Des Champs, Fastorslow and I Am Maximus. Elliott said, “There are four left in it. Conflated comes out third best on ratings but he goes there in good form and seems to like going left-handed around Leopardstown. We are looking forward to running him. “To be honest I was very impressed with Galopin Des Champs the last day. He was awesome. “He seemed to relish a bit of softer ground and looks the one we all have to beat but if you’re not in you can’t win.”
