Irish Oaks-entrant Glyfada (5/4f) followed up a maiden success with consecutive wins today, landing Killarney’s Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Race for American owners Skara Glen Stables, jockey Gavin Ryan and trainer Donnacha O’Brien.

The daughter of Camelot had won her maiden over 1m2f at Naas last month and today, reverting to a mile, quickened well to lead inside the final furlong, to beat What About Us by two lengths.

Rider Ryan reported “it was a little worry dropping down in distance but Donnacha was very happy sending her down.

“I had a question mark depending on how slow they could go, as she enjoys a lead and had a good look in front the last day, but today she surprised me when finding another gear and galloped through the line well.

“She is a lovely big filly, is very versatile and has answered every question so far.”

Glyfada holds entries in an upcoming Listed race and in the top-level Oaks and Pretty Polly Stakes.
